O’Sullivan, 47, admitted back in February that he wasted as many as nine years of his career on partying hard, which also showed in the game. Alcohol and drugs took the man.

But now, on the eve of the World Cup, O’Sullivan lives a drug-free life and is in good shape. He admits that he is still an addict, but the situation is under control.

– I’m an addict, I know that, but I don’t have a problem with it anymore. I channel it into running or going to the gym, says O’Sullivan.

Today, many people wonder why a man spends so much time in the gym. He has a simple answer for them.

– I could also be in a crack cave. I just chose the hall. I chose running in the forest. I’ve decided to do anything that keeps me out of pubs, drinking and partying.

O’Sullivan already won the seventh world title of his career last year and is ready to defend it in this year’s tournament.

If O’Sullivan wins the championship again, he will become the first snooker player in history to win the World Cup title eight times. O’Sullivan currently holds seven championship records of Stephen Hendry with.

The World Snooker Championships will be played at the Crucible Theater in Sheffield from 15 April to 1 May 2023.
