“It was the worst nightmare that was not supposed to come true, but is now true.” Friends and family of the Dutch Hebe (10) and her supervisor Sanne (26) have broken down after the police officially confirmed that the bodies in the recovered Kia Picanto do indeed belong to the missing two. Although everything points to a fatal accident, there is still uncertainty. “Although I do know one thing for sure: Sanne did not consciously drive into the canal. She loved living so much,” says her best friend Mark Deckers (35).
