His children, Marco (Matteo Branciamore), Rudi (Niccolò Centioni) and Mimmo (Federico Russo) have now become adults. But they continue to live together in Garbatella and, twelve years later, they are more united than ever. Marco is about to marry Virginia (Marta Filippi): together they are the parents of Adriano (Pietro Serpi). Marta (Valentina Bivona), the daughter he had in the past, also returns from the United States: she is now a teenager. Smart, liar, manipulative like all teenagers. «I like to talk about the spark that gave me the certainty that this series needed to be redone», said Claudio Amendola. «A very dear friend, my assistant director Alessandro Vanni, was going to catch a train during the Christmas holidays. In Termini there is the large Christmas tree where children put their wishes, and by chance his attention was attracted by a little letter that said: “Dear Santa Claus, please bring me the seventh series of The Cesaroni”. This, together with twelve years of meetings on the street with very normal people who asked me: “Please, remake I Cesaroni, remake I Cesaroni” gave me the certainty that another season had to be made.”

«We meet again with the same family, twelve years later, in a much changed society. However, due to that almost maniacal desire to respect the public’s expectations, we thought that the characters had to be quite similar to themselvesbut in a slightly different context”, said Claudio Amendola. «We have maintained that way of being, that desire to talk about eternal feelings. Having said this, the world around the Cesaroni has changed: the bottle shop no longer works as before, and with its transformation into a restaurant we also tell how the neighborhood is changing.”
In addition to Fabio Rovazzi as himself, the series also features a cameo by Paolo Bonolis: “We were aiming very high on one of the Mediaset characters,” explained Amendola. «Paul with his Roman character, that cheerfulness and that sarcasm mixed with cynicism seemed to us to be as “Caesarable” as possible. I admire traditional families just as much as those who aren’t. And I am convinced that families with same-sex parents are able to give the same amount of love as any other family. Family affection is earned during life, it cannot be preordained. Love is something that parents must earn from their children, because I don’t know a son who said to his father: “Bring me into the world”.
