What Linda de Mol can do, Mariska van Kolck can do too. She says she intends to host a Ukrainian family in her home. But first her son has to get out of the house.
Mariska was married to the German-born Knut for fourteen years, but that relationship ended in 2011: he had made his mistress pregnant. She has two children, one of whom still lives at home. When he has also left home, Mariska wants to start a kind of asylum seekers’ center in the attic.
Azc in the attic
She really likes it, Mariska tells the Party. “What I have discussed with my boys is that I want to receive a family from Ukraine on the top floor. As long as Vincent is still at home, that’s difficult, but once he’s on his own feet, that’s the first thing I’ll do.”
For the time being, however, it does not look like son Vincent (20) is leaving home. He has just returned. “My youngest son is back after living in rooms. He really likes that, because it saves costs, haha.”
Frog
Mariska also tells extensively in the magazine about the frog she recently found at her front door. “I thought it was really bizarre, that frog. But also scary, because that beast has been sitting in front of my door for at least 45 minutes and tried in vain with its little paws to open the door of my house.”
Perhaps it is a sign that she should open her doors to refugees. “I’m not at all floaty, but it was that I thought: why is this happening and why is that frog so busy trying to get inside me?”
