HZVV loses due to personal mistakes

FOOTBALL – HZVV has also lost the second league match of the calendar year. AZSV from Aalten won 1-3 in Hoogeveen. The game was decided by personal errors by the team from Hoogeveen.

Due to the loss, HZVV is in 10th place in the Dutch big league, with now 16 points from 13 games.

Strong start

HZVV started the game strongly and was most on the ball. That’s why the 0-1 came out of the blue. Due to a personal error by keeper Rodney Rosink, the ball was suddenly behind him in the goal. The 0-2 is perhaps even crazier. A number of players thought that a foul had been committed in midfield. The referee hadn’t whistled, so the AZSV players had a free passage to the goal.

Game image doesn’t change

After the break, the game image remained the same: the Hoogeveners had the ball, the Aaltenaren collapsed. HZVV failed to break through the defense. A penalty from Alex Zomer was needed to make the connecting goal at the end of the second half. Striker Kelly Joao missed a number of opportunities, but a third personal error stopped HZVV’s resistance. Due to sloppy loss of ball in midfield, AZSV again got free passage to Rosink’s goal.

Selection not fit yet

A lack of match rhythm is an important cause of the two defeats in a row for coach Rick Mulder: “This is only the third game we play. Due to corona and a number of injuries, we currently do not have a fit selection”. However, the goal in the competition remains the same as for the winter break: “We want to go back to the left row.”

Next week HZVV will play against the number 15 ONS Sneek.
