FOOTBALL – In the Hoofdklasse B, both Drenthe clubs played a draw. HZVV was unable to beat ONS Sneek at home, it became 2-2. Noordscheschut played well with a 0-0 draw against ASV De Dijk from Amsterdam.
HZVV has the habit of quickly taking the lead, but also of losing it just as quickly. That was no different today, as the Hoogeveners took the lead in the 10th minute. Sander Dzemidzic pushed well on the defenders of Sneek, stole the ball and gave Noah ten Brinke an unmissable chance, 1-0. Two minutes later it was Pieter Abe de Jong who brought the Frisians back to the same level from a free kick.
The home team came out of the break sharply, the team was fierce and managed to put more pressure on Sneek’s defence. In the 55th minute, Kelly Joao got the ball on a silver platter, but his header went just wide. A minute later it was hit for Joao, who managed to pass Sneek’s keeper with a tight shot, 2-1. This lead could not be maintained either, because Han van Dijk determined the final score at 2-2 in the 69th minute. HZVV remains in 7th place in the Hoofdklasse B.
For the Schutters, relegation now seems inevitable. Today Marc van Meel’s team played a nice draw at ASV de Dijk from Amsterdam. This point only seems to make little difference in the battle for relegation. The gap to number 14 ONS Sneek is now 13 points, with 5 games left on the program. There is therefore a good chance that Noordscheschut can be seen again in the First Division next year.
Next week the number 10 Berkum will visit Noordscheschut. HZVV then plays the away game against Eemdijk, which is 4th in the Hoofdklasse B.
