Hyundai Kona Hev, test, consumption, how it goes

After driving the Hyundai Kona Hev in N Line trim, the question arises spontaneously: is a more generously sized SUV really necessary for everyday life and for a few trips out of town on the weekends or can the Korean compact crossover guarantee everything that 90% of motorists ask for? Having grown significantly in size compared to the previous generation – now 4.38 meters in length – the Kona has satisfactory interior space, even for those sitting in the back, and 466 liters of luggage space. Excellent consumption, 21 km/l on average with peaks of over 25 km/l in the city and a minimum of 15 km/l on the motorway at 130 km/h with adaptive cruise control (which works very well). The absence of the turbo and the presence of an electric motor supporting the 1.6 petrol engine with a total output of 138 HP help the powertrain – whose power is discharged to the front axle – to contain running costs.
