The preliminary investigation on this high-profile case has been completed. Now the representative of the prosecutor’s office and Kohal’s lawyers are getting acquainted with the materials.
The remains of rapper Andy Cartwright, according to Yushko’s passport, were found in the summer of 2020 in an apartment in the center of St. Petersburg. The circumstances of the incident were shocking in their cruelty. According to the investigation, the wife inflicted mortal wounds on the musician, and then, trying to get rid of the evidence, she cut the body into pieces. She, in all likelihood, prepared for the crime and stocked up on cutting materials and knives in advance. The pictures taken in the same apartment capture a terrible picture: the astrologer kept some of the packages in the refrigerator next to the food.
Kohal herself called the police, but then she began to get confused in the testimony. She first stated that Cartwright had allegedly died of a drug overdose. And she tried to hide her husband’s bad habit, and therefore dismembered him. This version was immediately rejected by experts – no traces of prohibited substances were found in the blood of the murdered man. According to investigators, Kohal first injected her husband with a lethal dose of an insulin analogue. This led to irreversible damage to brain function. According to the conclusion of the forensic medical examination, the rapper may still be alive, but could no longer resist.

The investigation in this case, experts say, dragged on – the accused spent a year and a half in a pre-trial detention center. Last October, the St. Petersburg City Court put her under house arrest… Marina Kohal left the court surrounded by lawyers.
According to the law, a representative of the Prosecutor’s Office of St. Petersburg is now getting acquainted with the materials of the criminal case. An indictment will then be drawn up and the case will be sent to the prosecutor for approval. And then it will go to court.
It is not known what kind of future the astrologer Kohal looked at in the stars, being under house arrest for several months. Everything is clearer in the Criminal Code: if guilt is proven – up to 15 years in prison. Experts and lawyers do not exclude that by the end of this year Kohal may hear the verdict.
