Hungarian PM tells Putin European leaders don’t want war

European leaders do not want war and are in favor of diplomatic solutions to conflicts, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin.

“My visit today is, in part, also a mission of peace, and I would like to assure you that not a single leader of the European Union, member states would like war. We are in favor of a political solution,” he said (quoted from “RIA News”).

Orban told what he wants to achieve from negotiations with Putin

Orban arrived in Russia for talks with Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó. On January 28, the Hungarian prime minister said that he plans to achieve an increase in gas supplies to the country during the negotiations against the backdrop of “the current difficult situation with high energy prices.”

In the announcement of the meeting on the Kremlin website saidthat the leaders will discuss the development of cooperation “in the trade, economic, energy, cultural and humanitarian fields”, as well as the problems of ensuring security in Europe.

A press conference is planned after the meeting of the two leaders.
