Nearly seven hundred tourists were evacuated from the former Inca settlement of Machu Picchu on Saturday. This is reported by the Peruvian government. They were transferred by train to the nearby town of Ollantaytambo following actions by local residents and tour operators against the privatization of ticket sales for the archaeological complex.
