Hundreds of thousands of Germans sign a petition for a fireworks ban after New Year’s Eve with five deaths

Nearly half a million Germans have signed an online petition from a police union calling for a national fireworks ban. With the petition, the Berlin branch of the police union Gewerkschaft der Polizei (GdP) hopes to put an end to the sale of fireworks to private individuals in Germany.
