Loud, colourful, shrill and peaceful. After two years of restrictions due to Corona, Christopher Street Day celebrated a strong comeback!
The police, organizers and most of the participants in Berlin agreed on this. A strong signal went out from the large demonstration and other events around it, said spokeswoman Sandrina Koemm-Benson: “We are many and we are loud.”
The rainbow train moved on Saturday from Spittelmarkt via Nollendorfplatz to the Brandenburg Gate, where a big festival took place in the evening. While the organizer spoke of a total of 600,000 demonstrators, the police counted 350,000.
There were no major incidents, they both said in unison.
