In Drenthe, more than 800 people are registered at a home address on a holiday park. In the municipality of Midden-Drenthe, most people have a home address on a holiday park. This is according to figures from Statistics Netherlands.

Nationally, the number of people registered in a holiday park is increasing. In 2019, for example, the Netherlands had more than 51,000 people with a home address on a holiday park, in 2025 there are already 60,000. In the Drenthe leader Midden-Drenthe, 288 people per 10,000 inhabitants have a holiday park as a home address, followed by AA and Hunze. Here 196 people use a holiday park as a home address per 10,000 inhabitants. In the province of Gelderland, most people live in a holiday park, around 10,000.

A significant part of the registered persons at a holiday park is under 25 years of age. Nationally it is 19 percent that younger than 25 years are. Drenthe is just below with 18 percent.

Statistics Netherlands writes that living in a holiday park often acts as an emergency solution, for example due to financial problems. In Drenthe, Groningen and Noord-Brabant, the proportion of people who receive social assistance benefits and/ or unemployment benefits is the greatest in a holiday park. About 8 percent of people who live here at a holiday park will receive one of these two benefits.
