Hundreds of K3 fans queue for hours for an autograph and photo

A large row of small K3 fans in rainbow dresses formed on Saturday morning in the center of Bergen op Zoom. There, fans could get an autograph from K3 and with the girl group in the photo. Because of the Record Store Day, the singers signed the vinyl record of their latest album ‘Waterval’ there.

The first fans were already waiting for Julia, Marthe and Hanne (K3) at a quarter to seven on Saturday morning. They had to wait a long time, because the signing session didn’t start until eleven o’clock.

“It was well worth the wait,” says a mother who walks out of the building with her child after hours of waiting. “They were very friendly. We chatted and said we are very proud of Julia.”

The successful album ‘Waterval’ was released on CD in December. A one-off waterfall-blue vinyl version of the album was released on Record Store Day. “To release Waterfall on vinyl seemed super cool to us. There’s nothing better than doing that on Record Store Day,” says Marthe.

“Who knows, in three years I’ll only be talking Flemish.”

For the Bergse Julia, the signing session was a home game. “There were a lot of people I knew. I could have expected that, but actually I didn’t expect it.” She does say that the home front clearly notices from her use of language that Julia has already become established in K3. “I actually hear from everyone that I’m talking quite a bit of Flemish, without noticing it. So who knows, maybe in three years I’ll only be talking Flemish,” she laughs.

The girls are already well attuned to each other. “That went faster than expected,” admits Marthe. “In the beginning it’s a bit exciting whether it will click. But somehow it all comes very naturally.”
