After the successful main race in Austin, Formula 1 driver Nico Hülkenberg starts the Mexican Grand Prix (Sunday, 9 p.m./Sky) with fresh self-confidence.

“The last weekend obviously left a good feeling,” said the German Sauber driver on Thursday: “But that’s no guarantee, you don’t get anything for free here. You have to find a good rhythm again, a good harmony with the car and the right window with the tires and the setup.”

The Emmericher finished eighth in the points in Texas last weekend. In the Drivers’ World Championship, Hülkenberg is ninth with 41 points, Sauber (59) can overtake Aston Martin (69) and the Racing Bulls (72) in the Constructors’ Championship and come sixth.

“I don’t think any of us in midfield really have an advantage,” said Hülkenberg: “We’re all very close to each other. It really depends on the form on the day and also a bit on the route. It’s just about having a clean, good weekend.”
