Show wrestling legend Hulk Hogan died last July at the age of 71. The recent Netflix documentary Hulk Hogan: Real American sheds light on Hogan’s last moments. The documentary was largely shot before the wrestler’s death and features Hogan himself.

In the documentary, Hogan talks about his health problems and how his physique has deteriorated.

– I’m fine, but my son has to open the caps of the water bottles for me because I can’t open them myself. It’s quite embarrassing. It keeps me humble and grateful. In my mind, I’m still 35 or 40 years old, Hogan told Netflix a few months before the fatal heart attack.

Hogan was considered a symbol of strength in his career.

Hogan is seen in the documentary as poor, he grimaces in pain and uses a walking stick.

Hogan also revealed that after her divorce in 2009, she used wild amounts of fentanyl, a synthetic opioid. He used that powerful painkiller when he appeared in TNA Wrestling.

– My body just had enough. I took fentanyls, two in the morning, stuck them under my gums. I had two fentanyl patches on my legs and they gave me six fentanyl lollipops to eat,” Hogan recalled.

Former wrestling promoter Eric Bischoff said in a documentary series that Hogan was prescribed “a handful of pills that could kill a horse” and “washed them down with a liter of vodka a day.”
