Waylon would love to go back in The Voice, but the program now returns without him and with Ilse DeLange, with whom he was upset for years. “Huh, he calls her name!”, Guido shouts.
It was a resounding success at the Eurovision Song Contest: Waylon and Ilse DeLange with their Act The Common Linnets, but behind the scenes it was less harmonious. Ilse did not want an equal financial distribution, Waylon was therefore one chunk of indignation under his cowboy hat. She continued with another linnet, he was dumped.
No more chair
Waylon was then also dumped by The Voice. In 2022 he was still in the rotating chair when the program was abruptly taken off the tube due to behavior. Since then he hoped for a resit. According to angry tongues even out of financial need: he would crave the corresponding salary. But in the new season there is no chair for him.
Story boss Guido den pickers in Shownieuws: “Waylon was unlucky that he was in the jury at the time and that stopped. He actually thought he was rather entitled to a year extra, that program was allowed to start again. That will of course happen next year, but unfortunately: there was no room for him anymore in the jury.”
A pity
