Hugo Lloris is leaving Tottenham Hotspur

Former French World Cup goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is moving from Tottenham Hotspur to Los Angeles FC in the USA. Both clubs confirmed this.

The 37-year-old came to London in the English Premier League from Olympique Lyon in August 2012 and played 447 competitive games for Spurs. 2019 was one of the guarantors of the surprising entry into the Champions League final against Liverpool FC (0-2).

After Lloris was Tottenham’s undisputed number one goalkeeper for years, new coach Ange Postecoglou, who arrived in the summer, relied on competitors Guglielmo Vicario and Fraser Forster.

The Major League Soccer season begins on February 24, 2024 with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami against Real Salt Lake. The new Lloris club LAFC became champions last year and only failed in the final this year to Columbus Crew. “We are in good hands,” said Llori’s new club. The Frenchman will receive a one-year contract in Los Angeles with options for 2025 and 2026.
