The Metzingen-based clothing group Hugo Boss wants to take the recycling and further use of the company’s own surplus materials into its own hands.
For this purpose, the company behind the Boss and Hugo brands founded the independent company “Eightyards,” Hugo Boss announced on Wednesday. This is scheduled to officially begin operations at the turn of the year.
This is led by Director Marketa Miltenberger and Co-Director Placido Klitzke, both of whom come from Hugo Boss AG’s own ranks. According to his own information, Miltenberger was active for Hugo Boss for almost twelve years on Linkedin – with a short break. She started in Metzingen at the beginning of 2012 as Senior Project Manager and was most recently Vice President Product Excellence Outerwear, Coats & Leather Garments since October 2022. According to his own statements, Klitzke was active on the career network for Hugo Boss for almost ten years, most recently as Team Leader Global Brand (Product) Management for Hugo.
“Eightyards” is intended to establish itself as “one of the central intermediaries” for the recycling and further use of surplus materials in the coming years. The company should operate beyond the boundaries of the fashion industry.
