Rockstar Games has come under attack which led to one of the biggest leaks in gaming history. Game footage of the game company’s expected game, Grand Theft Auto VI, was leaked.

A person operating under the username Teapotuberhacker shared the footage on a gaming forum. He had gotten his hands on three gigabytes of video footage from the game, which has not yet been presented. He shared more than 90 videos on various social media platforms over the weekend. The videos were later removed.

The videos showed video clips of the female character being played. The videos revealed that the game will also take place in the fictional Vice City, which is inspired by Miami. Rockstar’s 2002 GTA: Vice City was set in the same city as its name suggests.

Rockstar has not publicly presented its upcoming GTA game in more detail. The game studio confirmed in February that it is working on a new game in the series. Bloomberg’s players have to wait at least two years for the game.

Rockstar Games confirmed the leak on Monday on his Twitter account.

“We were recently the victim of a cyber intrusion where an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage from the next Grand Theft Auto,” Rockstar said.

Rockstar writes how disappointed the game house is that its next game was introduced in this way. Pelitalo states that it will continue to develop the game as usual and will provide more information when the game is ready.

The data leak did not affect the servers or other Rockstar functions.
