The Vancouver Olympic champion Tatjana Hüfner won again for the first time after a two-year break from winning at the Luge World Cup in Oberhof. The 32-year-old from Friedrichroda improved her own track record by 0.16 to 41.355 seconds in the triple success of the German women in the first run. In the second round she defended her lead with the second best time and won the 34th World Cup of her career ahead of the new World Cup leader Natalie Geisenberger from Miesbach. The third place on the podium was secured by European champion Dajana Eitberger from Ilmenau with the third running time. Summer Britcher (USA), who has been the leader in the World Cup so far, was only eighth.
