After the cup out of Werder Bremen in Bielefeld, it would have caught almost another favorite a day later. But the HSV proved morality.

Hamburger SV barely missed a embarrassment in the first round of the DFB Cup. After North Rival Werder Bremen had flown out of the competition at Arminia Bielefeld on Friday evening, the “red pants” had a long time at fifth league team FK Pirmasens for a long time – and only narrowly missed leaving. In the end, the team of coach Merlin Polzin celebrated a 2-1 win and the move into the second round.

In the Husterhöhe sports park, defender Guilherme Ramos headed the HSV in the second minute of stoppage time. Pehrasens had previously hoped for the sensation after Yannick Grieß shot the outsider in the lead (53rd minute). Substitute Ransford Königsdörffer brought the decision after 100 minutes and had the traveling HSV fans cheered.

In the parallel game, second division club VfL Bochum also had its problems with the BFC Dynamo. Like the HSV, the Bundesliga relegation had to be extended, but ultimately prevailed 3-1 in the Hohenschönenhausen Sportforum.

Jan Shcherbakovski scored right after the break for the fourth division club from Berlin (46th minute). Shortly before the final whistle, Bochum equalized by defender Noah Loosli (85th). Samuel Bamba and Matus Bero (107th) met in extra time for the ultimately deserved victory for the eleven of Dieter Hecking. The BFC also ended the game with only nine players in the field. Larry-Nana Oellers (80./Notbremse) and Rufat Dadashov (103./thätkeit) had both seen the red card.
