The HSV started the game fantastically – but suddenly Düsseldorf took his first chance. Shortly afterwards the home team turned up.

Hamburger SV confidently won the top game of the 2nd Bundesliga. Against Fortuna Düsseldorf, the Merlin Polzin team celebrated a 4: 1 (2: 1) victory and climbed back to the top of the table. Miro Muheim put the HSV early with a sensational long -range shot (7th minute) before team -mate Davie Selke increased (39.).

In the second half, the home team benefited from an own goal of the Düsseldorf: A shot from Adam Karabec crashed from the post to the back of Düsseldorf goalkeeper Florian Kastenmeier and the goal (66.). Joker Otto Stange marked the final score in added time. Dawid Kownacki (18th) scored the goal for the guests.

While HSV has collected important points, Fortuna is under pressure after the second defeat in a row. The team of coach Daniel Thioune is now five points behind the third Kaiserslautern. In the Hanseatic city, the Rhinelanders played a lot to destructive for a long time and also left thick chances in the second section. The Bundesliga goal for Düsseldorf is getting further away – in contrast to the HSV.

The Polzin team, which has not yet lost a home game this season, offered the 57,000 spectators in the sold -out Volksparkstadion a really strong first half – which started perfectly with Muheim’s dream goal. The left -back took from 28 meters and hammered the ball on the left into the right corner of the goal. Just two minutes later, Selke headed over three meters after a precise cross from Jean-Luc Dompé, and William Mikelbrencis also aimed from 13 meters above the box (14th).

The host’s user forces took revenge a little later when Düsseldorf equalized with the first offensive campaign. With his steep pass into the run of Kownacki, Moritz Kwarteng dissected the entire Hamburg defense, against HSV keeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes the Pole Krownacki then remained cool and netted at the bottom left.

Anyone who believed that the Fortuna had arrived in the game was deceived. The hosts stayed on the trigger, continued to act significantly toxic in the duels and always achieved good opportunities.

The HSV shone in the first 45 minutes with over 70 percent possession and eleven goal shots. After Düsseldorf’s goalkeeper Kastmeier parried in the highest need against Selke (29), Karabec (38th) and Ludovit Reis (39.), he had to accept a second goal before the break. After a corner kick, Selke was on the spot on the short post.

In the second section, the home side continued exactly there and awarded further opportunities – but were very lucky that Isaak Johannesson did not hit the empty goal during a counterattack from the center line (57.). Düsseldorf’s Dženan Pejčinović left the equalization with foot and head twice (61. And 62.). A little later, on the other hand, Karabec made the preliminary decision over Kastenmeier.
