Last weekend, Hamburger SV had to do without the center forward in the second division for the first time since Robert Glatzel was signed in summer 2021 – the 28-year-old was initially rested due to persistent back problems in the 2-3 win against newly promoted Magdeburg. Glatzel was hardly in the game a little later than the statics of the HSV game changed, although the hoped-for turnaround did not materialize. The second division club now apparently wants to step up the offensive and not just leave it at young attacker Tom Sanne (18) as a replacement, who rose to become the club’s youngest goalscorer in the German lower house shortly before the end.
According to information from “DeichStube” HSV is interested in Werder Bremen’s Eren Dinkci. The 20-year-old should switch to the Elbe as a supplement to striker Glatzel (seven goals this season), reports the portal. The undertaking should not be easy because the offensive man had extended his contract, which ended in 2023, until 2025. Dinkci is by no means available for a sum up to his market value – 700,000 euros – because the Bremen team is banking on the development potential and thus on an increased sales value of their talent. A purchase is therefore probably out of the question, but rather a lending transaction.
In the case of Dinkci, recruiting HSV was definitely of interest because at Werder he was mostly used on the flanks or as a hanging striker. Born in Bremen, he has played 34 games for the Green-Whites so far, scoring one goal and two assists. In the current season, the right foot was only allowed to play 14 minutes in the last Bundesliga defeat in Freiburg due to injury, plus 63 minutes in the cup in the second round in Paderborn.
