Numerous members do not want to accept this decision and instead continue to have the general meeting voted on one of the best -known players in the club’s history. Representatives of the Honorary Council confirmed the entrance of several corresponding emails and announced that they are busy dealing with it in the coming days.
One of the largest fan clubs of the HSV has also positioned itself clearly. “With great incomprehension and growing concern, we pursue the developments related to the non-approval of Felix Magath. If you remove the applicant with the clearest sporting profile and the greatest relevant experience from the race, the selection is limited,” says an open letter from the fan club “Hermann’s loyal ranks” with more than 1,000 members.
Magath himself publicly commented on the rejection of his candidacy on Friday evening. “I respect the decision of the advisory board, even if it is not understandable in terms of content,” he said during a visit to the fan club.
Magath also wanted to be HSV sports director-Jansen no longer competes
A year ago, the former international wanted to be a sports director. However, Stefan Kuntz, who celebrated his return to the Bundesliga after seven years of abstinence, was awarded the contract.
The outgoing still president and former Bundesliga professional Marcell Jansen had announced a few weeks ago not to start again. Magath confirmed his candidacy in April. “I am the right HSV president for the next few years,” he said to the television station of “Welt” and “Bild”.
