HSV coach Pit Reimers is probably the top candidate at VfL Osnabrück

Schweinsteiger successor

The coaching search at VfL Osnabrück has apparently produced a new top candidate. How “Sky“ reports, Pit Reimers from Hamburger SV II at the Bremer Bridge is at the top of the note. After the separation from promotion coach Tobias Schweinsteiger, the bottom team is looking for a new trainer.

It is not clear from the TV station’s report who is currently in the running other than Reimers. The search is reportedly nearing completion and a decision will be made at the beginning of next week. The previous assistants Martin Heck and Tim Danneberg took over management on an interim basis. The home game against Magdeburg, who had previously been in poor form, was lost 2-0 on Saturday.

The traded Reimers has been working as a coach at HSV since 2007, and was promoted to the second division team’s regional league team for the 2020/21 season. The 40-year-old was named Coach of the Year by the North German Football Association. In addition to Reimers, Gladbach’s U23 coach Eugen Polanski was also considered a candidate in Osnabrück.
