HSV bosses apparently make decisions about Tim Walter’s future

Hamburger SV is threatened with another year in the 2nd Bundesliga instead of the targeted promotion. On the last day of the game, the gap grew again. The HSV bosses are said to have made a decision about the future of coach Tim Walter.

Hamburger SV has been waiting for a win in the 2nd Bundesliga for four games now. The most recent low blow for HSV was the meager 1-1 draw against Fortuna Düsseldorf.

The gap to relegation place three is now six points, although the Rothosen can still reduce the gap in the catch-up game against Erzgebirge Aue (April 5). However, with a current nine-point lead, first and second place are not within reach anyway.

According to data from “image“Despite this starting position, those responsible at HSV are not considering releasing Tim Walter from his duties as head coach before the end of the season.

Sports director Jonas Boldt and Co. found themselves in a similar situation only a year ago when, after a long period of hesitation, Daniel Thioune was finally kicked out.

HSV still have their sights set on a big title

According to the report, however, there is no doubt internally about Walter’s ability to bring HSV back to the first class. Rather, it is conceivable that the north club will go into another year in the lower house with the 46-year-old.

The HSV should be spared the next complete upheaval. Instead, the team should be selectively strengthened on the transfer market in order to possibly start a new attempt at the first division.

Tim Walter still has a contract with HSV until 2023. Under the former coach of Holstein Kiel and VfB Stuttgart, the Hamburg team has rarely been able to show consistently good performances this season.

Although no team has lost fewer games than HSV (four defeats), with twelve draws now, promotion to the Bundesliga is becoming increasingly difficult.

But: Due to the semi-finals in the DFB Cup, the Walter-Elf still have a big title in their sights this season.
