HSV before Aue: Get at least one remaining chance, NDR-Sport – NDR – Regional

The previous table leaders FC St. Pauli lost 0:1 in Rostock, the new leaders Werder Bremen did not get more than 1:1 against Sandhausen.

Back on the road to success against Aue?

On Tuesday (6.30 p.m., in the NDR Livecenter) the Hanseatic League can reduce the gap to at least six points in the home game against FC Erzgebirge Aue. “The most important thing is that we get back on the road to success,” demanded Boldt, keeping an eye on the game plan constellation that may be favorable for HSV.

The top clubs still meet each other directly in many duels, the former Bundesliga Dino, on the other hand, without exception against teams in the lower half of the table. “It will be a very exciting final phase and we will try to have a say in it,” explained Boldt.

Because of easy opponents …

But a look at the past season shows that the supposedly easier tasks were big hurdles for HSV. Exactly one year ago, the Hamburgers did not get more than 3:3 at Hannover 96, who were tenth in the table at the time, despite a 3:0 lead. The Hanseatic League were also without a win against Darmstadt (12th/1:2), Sandhausen (17th/1:2), Karlsruhe (8th/1:1) and Regensburg (14th/1:1). The dreams of promotion were finally shattered by a 2:3 in the 16th table. VfL Osnabrueck.

Motivation coach Kortmann sees a head problem

This negative experience got stuck in the minds of the HSV pros – even those who weren’t there, says sports scientist and motivational trainer Olaf Kortmann: “It’s like driving past a place on the autobahn where you once had a had an accident and is reminded of it again and again.” The HSV honorary member explained that something like this had to be worked on. “But no coach or board member can do that, it has to be done by an external sports psychologist.”

Boldt does not fundamentally reject such help (“football is always a matter of the mind”), but also pointed out that HSV had already worked with a psychologist in the past – without success. In addition, he “did not perceive any helplessness or lack of leadership among our professionals.” On the contrary: He sees “that the team wants them to try everything,” said Boldt.

Boldt continues to focus on the development of the team

Boldt never tires of pointing out the big picture at HSV. The word “development” is mentioned again and again. Or the reference to the young team, whose framework consists of players who are all older than 25 years old.

In a media round on Sunday, the HSV board member named Union Berlin, Greuther Fürth and VfL Bochum as role models: “If you look at these clubs, you notice: There was a way to see it, a team stayed together, it was able to develop and improve a team over a period of time.”

But patience is required for this, according to Boldt, who described his task at HSV as “perhaps the greatest challenge in German professional football”. Before the start of the season, they deliberately chose the current path – even at the risk “that the goals would not be achieved immediately”. In other words: Boldt also knows that the topic of promotion is probably no longer realistic this season.

Possible lineups:

HSV: Heuer Fernandes – Heyer, Vuskovic, Schonlau, Vagnoman – Meffert – Reis, Kittel – Jatta, Glatzel
Aue: Männel – Strauss, Gonther, Cacutalua, Barylla – Schreck, Fandrich – Kühn, Nazarov, Hochscheidt – Jonjic
