The DFL has announced the Bundesliga and second division dates up to matchday 19 – including the two derbies for HSV.
The Hamburg team awaits Werder Bremen on matchday 13 for the longed-for northern duel on Sunday, December 7th, at 3:30 p.m. On a Friday, January 23rd, the derby for the city championship will take place in FC St. Pauli’s Millerntorstadion. HSV lost the first leg in the Volksparkstadion against their rivals 0-2. The last time they faced Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga was in February 2018. The Rothosen’s last win against SVW in the upper house was in April 2016. The meeting in December this year will be the 155th northern derby in a competitive game between HSV and Werder since the end of the Second World War. In the Bundesliga since 1963, they have faced each other 108 times (all northern derbies at a glance).
Among the highlights until the end of the year and the start of 2026 is FC Bayern’s appearance at VfB Stuttgart on Saturday, December 6th, at the best kick-off time of 3:30 p.m. Gladbach has to compete in the Borussia duel in Dortmund on Friday evening, December 19th. The new Bundesliga year opens on Friday, January 9th (8:30 p.m.), Eintracht Frankfurt and BVB. During the week, on Wednesday, January 14th (8:30 p.m.), 1. FC Köln will have the opportunity to take revenge after losing the cup game against FC Bayern.
In the 2nd Bundesliga, where matchdays 15 to 19 have been announced, December begins with the guest games of FC Schalke at Fortuna Düsseldorf and Hannover 96 at Preußen Münster on Friday, December 6th. Two days later, December 8th (1:30 p.m.), there will be the Frankenderby against Fürth in Nuremberg. A week later, the club travels to the friendly duel at S04 on Sunday, December 14th at 1:30 p.m. The new football year will ring in in the second league on Friday, January 16th (6:30 p.m.), Fortuna Düsseldorf against Arminia Bielefeld and Eintracht Braunschweig in a neighborhood duel with 1. FC Magdeburg.
