The forest fire that affects the area of Los Manzanos, in the Nahuel Huapi National Parkremains active and represents a highly complex challenge for emergency teams. The adverse weather conditions, marked by high temperatures, low humidity and strong westerly winds, favored the appearance of new fire outbreaks in The Apple TreesCerro Bastión and Cerro Colorado, complicating combat tasks.

During the day, weather conditions made it difficult to deploy early air resources, which were only able to begin operations around noon. Two helicopters, a Bell 412 and a Bell 407, replaced 27 brigade members at the Los Manzanos camp and transported personnel to evaluate the situation in Laguna Quetro. Added to these tasks was a BELL UH1H helicopter of the Argentine Army, which also collaborated in the transfer of brigade members.

Logistical preparations

In parallel, progress was made in the construction of a camp in the Steffen areawith the capacity to accommodate 60 fightersof which 30 will join tomorrow. This logistical effort is key to improving the coordination and effectiveness of operations in particularly challenging terrain.

The fire currently affects a perimeter area of 2,331 hectares, although this figure varies daily as more precise data is obtained. The characteristics of the terrain, with slopes greater than 60% and dense vegetation Composed of dry cane and large trees, they greatly complicate containment tasks and create a high-risk environment for combatants.
