The new crime statistics for the capital were presented on Friday. And this is where Berlin is still the sad leader in Germany: Hour after hour, 55 criminal offenses become known – of which only 25 are solved in the end. But how safe do Berliners really feel?

Philipp M. (23) from Charlottenburg: “I’ve been living in Berlin for a year now and I have to say: It’s much safer than I thought. You always hear about Berlin how dangerous it is supposed to be, but I’ve never had anything stolen.” (Photo: Ufuk Ucta)
Stephan P. (59) from Charlottenburg: “These statistics surprise me. One reads so often about murder and manslaughter. I have the feeling that everything is becoming more and more criminal. Personally, nothing has really happened in my neighborhood yet

Anna B. (23) from Charlottenburg: “My mobile phone was stolen from the main train station last September. And that straight out of my coat pocket, really quite annoying. The police couldn't do anything either” (Photo: Ufuk Ucta)
