How Kanye West tries to change critics’ minds on Instagram

Ari Emanuel, boss of the media company Endeavor, has called for no more dealings with Kanye West and directed his appeal to all companies that still work with the rapper. West responded via Instagram on Thursday (October 27) by posting to Emanuel, “I still love you.”

Within two weeks, Kanye West has ruined his reputation beyond repair: he angered the “Black Lives Matter” movement with his “White Lives Matter” clothes, made false claims about the cause of George Floyd’s death, and finally made anti-Semitic statements several times by himself.

Emanuel, whose company also owns martial arts promoter UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), wrote in a piece for the Financial Times: “Those who continue to do business with West are giving an audience to his misguided hatred… It shouldn’t be.” Show tolerance for West’s anti-Semitic comments.” He also asked Apple and Spotify to remove the rapper’s music from streaming services.

West tries to placate: “Ari Emanuel. I lost 2 billion dollars in one day and I’m still alive. These are words of love. I still love you. God still loves you. The money is not who I am. People are who I am”.

Alongside countless celebrities and friends who have criticized and disowned Kanye West, he has already lost brand deals with Adidas, Gap, Balenciage and Foot Locker. The wax museum Madame Tussauds banished his figure from the exhibition to the archives. The termination of the contract with Adidas was probably the biggest setback for the rapper, because it alone cost him $1.5 billion.
