The disorder Brad Pitt is suffering from is called prosopagnosiaa term that derives from the fusion of two Greek words, πρόσωπον (pròsoponface), e ἀγνωσία (agnosìaignorance) and is also known as facial blindness. The name of Brad Pitt’s disease was coined in 1947 by the German neurologist Joachim Bodamer and it is a pathology that affects about 2% of the population. It can also sometimes be associated with visual agnosia. In the most serious forms, the affected person does not even recognize his own face.
