The Real Sociedad goalkeeper launches a new project in Gipuzkoa to offer emotional well-being tools in the grassroots football ecosystem

It will create a team of experts in sports psychology that, through workshops and a course, will work with families, coaches and players in pressure management, conflict resolution, decision making, etc.

Alex RemiroReal Sociedad goalkeeper, and the NGO ‘Fútbol Más España’with projects in Seville and Madrid, will promote a project with a socio-educational impact on sport, which seeks to work on positive parenting and emotional regulation of boys, girls and families of grassroots football in Gipuzkoa.

through the Sport for Development methodology and through workshops and training tools, moderated by sports psychology experts, Álex Remiro and ‘Fútbol Más’ will carry out a program that will last one year.

The beneficiaries will be the families of various sports clubs in Gipuzkoa, who, in addition to the face-to-face sessions and workshops, will receive training through an e-learning platform (Nivelat)which will contribute to continuous training complementary to face-to-face training.

‘Fútbol Más’ has spent 15 years working on the development of life skills in children, young people and their communities around the world, using soccer and the game as a tool for social intervention in 11 countries around the world. In Madrid and Seville, specifically, they work with more than 200 boys, girls and young people who live at risk of social exclusion, promoting educational spaces for well-being and inclusion through football.

Regarding this new challenge in his life and the opportunity to make an impact through sport, Álex Remiro pointed out that, “I am very proud to be able to join and cooperate with Fútbol Más for social transformation through soccer. I firmly believe that this union will generate great opportunities in Gipuzkoa and that together we will develop a beneficial program for the youth football ecosystem.”.
