Abel and Noëlle from Hooghalen can’t believe their luck this morning either. Because they didn’t have to go to school, they went skating on the street for the first time in their lives. “It doesn’t happen that often, so we had a good taste of it,” he says enthusiastically.
Brother and sister spent almost an hour outside, where a round courtyard in front of the house had turned into a small ice rink. “You couldn’t really skate normally, because you could feel that there were stones. With a chair in front of it it went better,” says Abel. “It was a lot of fun, also to see how many traces you leave in the ice through the bends.”
