Hovocubo gets the short end of the stick in a charged match against leader Tigers Roermond

Hovocubo had to suffer an unpleasant home defeat tonight in the indoor football premier league. The team from Hoorn lost in the final phase against Tigers Roermond: 3-2. The duel was under a magnifying glass in advance because it during the previous edition got out of hand.

Despite the troubles during the previous meeting, there was little evidence of any old sores on the floor during this match. Both teams played sporty and Tigers Roermond in particular got off to a strong start in the De Opgang sports hall in Zwaag. The visitors took the initiative from minute one. Hovocubo hardly created any big opportunities and had to watch as goalkeeper Dave Stet was passed for the first time by former Hovocuban Faisal Mellah.

After the opening goal, the initiative remained with the guests from Limburg. Hovocubo, who has not yet played creatively, was hit again just before half-time. Ayoub Tamoukh made it 2-0 at halftime after a flashy attack.

After halftime, the spectators in the well-filled stands saw a completely different Hovocubo. Sander van Dijk’s team performed much better and were more often seen in the opponent’s half. Yet it took more than fifteen minutes before the Horinese were able to score the tying goal. A beautiful diagonal through ball from Abdessamad Attahiri was shot well behind the outgoing goalkeeper by Karim Mossaoui.

Tomorrow a report will appear on this website about Hovocubo’s match against Tigers Roermond. This will also be shown on Monday in a new broadcast of NH Sport at 5.10 pm.

After the 1-2, Hovocubo continued to keep the pressure on Tigers and the deserved equalizer came five minutes before the end. Hicham Aklalouch shot the ball into the ropes via the Tigers goalkeeper. Despite Hovocubo’s dominance in the second half, Tigers still became the happier side of the two. In the final phase, Ishak Belhaj got the ball out of nowhere and scored the winning 3-2 with less than two minutes left.

Due to the defeat, Hovocubo is now fifth in the Premier League. The gap to leader Tigers has now increased to ten points.
