The managers of Hotel-Café ‘t Zwanemeer in Gieten have closed their catering business overnight. While she and the property owner are in conflict over the state of the building, paying hotel guests remain empty -handed.

There is a note on the door of the hotel on Oude Groningerweg. ‘Closed due to circumstances. ‘ The company, which in addition to the hotel also consists of Brasserie Gienieten, has been locked for at least a month. The website and the social media pages are from the air and the telephone number on the internet is out of use.

Several people who would sleep for a night soon complain to reviews that they can suddenly no longer reach the hotel. Some received an e-mail with the message that their booking has been canceled. Others hear nothing at all.

“Wanted to ask anything else but no longer available by telephone and mail is returned unanswered. No message, no reimbursement,” writes one of the complainants on Google reviews. Another reports: “On no possibility to get in touch and have disappeared from the earth.”
