Hot Chip Challenge may no longer be sold in Belgium | Domestic

According to the Commission, a product with such a concentration of peppers (capsaicinoids) does not belong on the food market. The chip is so spicy that when you buy it, you get a rubber glove to handle it. “The peppers contained in the chip are not prohibited in themselves,” says Liesbeth Van de Voorde of the FASFC. “The problem is that it is intended for isolated use.” The food agency asks consumers not to consume #HotChipChallenge brand products and to return them to the point of sale.

The Hot Chip Challenge was sold by various points of sale in Belgium. The hot chips were on the shelves at Delhaize, Intermarché, Carrefour and Spar, among others. The product is also offered online. Anyone who would like additional information can contact the FASFC hotline on telephone number 0800/13.550 or via [email protected].
