There are currently twenty episodes of The Voice on the shelf: ten of the adult version and ten of the junior version. For the recordings of the eleventh, never broadcast season of The Voice Kids, Ilse DeLange spent weeks in the studio next to the controversial Ali B. How does she view the abuse scandal now?

Surprised and shocked

Ilse still hasn’t recovered from it. “I think just like everyone else. Totally amazed and shocked. Very strange that I have always enjoyed sitting there. I also find it very sad that what is in itself a fantastic program is going down like this,” she says in the talk show Beau.

The singer hopes that the program will one day get rid of that huge stain. “I hope that at some point that program can be disconnected again from certain individuals who may have done this.”

Very sad

According to Ilse, it would be nice if The Voice Kids could eventually go ahead again. “I hope so, because I also think it is a shame for the children with whom we had already recorded an entire season. Not all of them are on television. I just find that very sad.”

It seems like a vain hope. Those ten never aired episodes of The Voice Kids are full of Ali B. And of course there is no one waiting for his TV appearance.
