Hoogeveen thinks he has found a solution for the unsafe situations on the Holleveldse Getting up in Hollandscheveld. Due to the adjustments, it is intended that the speed of the traffic goes down.
In a letter to the Municipal Council of Adjustments, the municipality speaks to improve the road safety and liveability of residents. Firstly, it concerns three measures on the west side of the street, between the Hollandschedijk and the Trekgatenweg. There will be a threshold, narrowing becomes more visible and there will be an extra marking on the road surface at the exit to the cycle path to Buitenvaart.
On the east side, between Hollandschedijk and the corner, extra marking is made to make the road look narrower. Hoogeveen was also agreed with the police to do speed controls after adjustments.
According to the Commission, these measures, which are aimed at a maximum speed of 50 kilometers per hour, have support among local residents. The neighborhood felt little for a further reduction to 30 kilometers per hour.
In an attempt to increase safety in the street, flower boxes were placed last year. That turned out not to be success. The flower boxes have already been removed.
Hoogeveen expects to start work this year. When exactly is unclear.
