Honorary hague for ‘silver’ Oshin Derieuw in Kuurne

Applause, congratulations and especially many hugs: it is a moving moment for Oshin Derieuw to be so enthusiastically received in Kuurne. “Here in Kuurne I have always felt supported and appreciated by colleagues, friends, people from Kuurne. I have never felt that from a city or municipality,” explains Derieuw.

With a silver medal and a qualification for the Olympic Games in 2024, she has made Kuurne incredibly proud. It is also a special moment for Mayor Francis Benoit. “Oshin has worked in the municipality. I have worked very closely with her. She had that dream. The time has come and it is fantastic to experience it”, concludes Benoit.
