After a fabulous season, FC Bayern footballers are allowed to hold the master shell in their hands. Lametta rained at the celebration, the players wore ski glasses – and coach Alexander Straus said goodbye to their eyes with tears.
FC Bayern Munich will no longer get out of celebrations this weekend: The day after the men celebrated the master shell, the women were also allowed to be cheered.
First Georgia Stanway pressed the championships when walking past, then captain Glódís Perla Viggósdóttir presented the trophy. Afterwards they were all able to do it once: from goalkeeper Mala Grohs, who had to cope with a cancer diagnosis in one season and celebrated an emotional comeback, through exceptional player Lena Oberdorf, who had seriously injured, to every single player who took part in the title with goals, assists and duels. It was raining golden lametta for all of them before the players put on skiing glasses – maybe also to protect themselves from the beer showers?
3-0 against Essen on the last matchday
The Munich women celebrated their best season so far on Sundaya national performance at national level and the first double of the championship and DFB Cup since 2012.
The season ended the team of the outgoing coach Alexander Straus with a solid 3-0 (2-0) victory against the SGS Essen. Lea Schüller (36th, 64th) and Pernille Harder (45th) delighted the domestic audience with their goals and ensured a duly conclusion to a brilliant season.
Klara Bühl convinced with Fabel dubes
The champions went down easily on the last match day, so the first chances came from the grasses. But in the final quarter of an hour of the first half, the Munich women turned up.
Lea Schüller and Pernille Harder were able to use the sugar entries of Klara Bühl, which was outstanding throughout the season. The ex-Essen Schüller then benefited from a huge mistake by keeper Kim Sindermann in the 64th minute and increased to 3-0.
Straus, Sembrant and Ulbrich say goodbye to FCB fans
In the 80th minute, Straus then changed the defensive headquarters to enable Linda Sembrant and Michelle Ulbrich, who leave the club, to give a goodbye farewell to the domestic audience. Straus himself also had to say goodbye a little later: It was the last game for the Norwegian as a coach of the FCB. With tears in his eyes, he said goodbye to his players: “I’m so proud of you,” he said after the game. After three years in Munich, Straus is now going to Los Angeles.
By the way, the master party continues in a week when the FC Bayern women and men will be celebrated on May 18 at Marienplatz.
