Stadskanaal ’74 has won the 20th edition of the international indoor korfball tournament in sports hall De Spont in Stadskanaal. In the final, Badalona from Catalonia was defeated 14-11. At halftime it was still 8-8.
In the group, the young talented formation of Kevin van Haastrecht was too strong for Badalona with 9-7.
The Knoalsters can look back on a fantastic tournament. The first game in the group was lost 13-12 to Hatchers from Malaysia, but then Vardanank from Armenia, VSD Jam from Hungary and Baldona from Catalonia were tied to the victory cart.
In the exciting semi-final, Wroclaw from Poland narrowly won 10-9. This team took third place at the expense of VSD Vibe from Hungary.
