FC Arsenal’s plan to get confidence in the Premier League for the showdown against Paris Saint-Germain did not work.
The “Gunners” lost the game on the 35th matchday against the AFC Bournemouth with 1: 2 and missed the dress rehearsal for the semi-final second leg in the Champions League near Paris Saint-Germain. On Wednesday (9:00 p.m.), Arsenal has the chance to move back into the final class finale for the first time since 2006, but would have to make up for a 0-1 defeat from the first leg in the Prinzenpark.
Areteta brings the first eleven – but only Rice meets
Mikel Areta refrained from protecting his regular players with a view of the showdown with PSG. With Declan Rice, who had his 100th assignment at Arsenal, one of the leaders (34th) also got the hungry. But after the break, Bournemouth shot the encounter thanks to the goals of Dean Huijsen (67th) and Evanilson (75th).
In the table, the “Gunners” (67 points) are still in second place, but pursuers Manchester City is only three points left as the third. Behind it is the race for the Champions League qualification more and more closely: Aston Villa initially equated in positions 5 and 6 with a 1-0 win after points with Chelsea and Nottingham Forest.

But also for Arsenal’s opponents, the dress rehearsal for the second leg went next to it: The Parisians, who are already as master in Ligue 1, lost at Racing Strasbourg 1: 2 and collected the second defeat of the season.
