For four years, Jonas Meffert was a reliable support in the defensive midfield HSV. In his 126 second division games (three goals) for the Rothosen, he was in the starting line-up in 125 cases and only missed a total of ten league games due to suspensions or injuries. However, the situation has changed significantly since promotion: Meffert is often no longer even the second choice for HSV coach Merlin Polzin. The 31-year-old has only played four times in the 15 matchdays so far and has only been on the pitch for 144 minutes.
