Holstein Kiel and St. Pauli are probably close to SV Sandhausen’s Chima Okoroji

Both Holstein and St. Pauli have a need on the defensive side. Okoroji switched from SC Freiburg to Hardtwald in 2021 for a fee of 100,000 euros and has since increased its market value from 700,000 euros to one million euros, which is only surpassed by David Kinsombi (27) in the squad. The native of Munich could thus become one of the most valuable departures in the history of the SVS club, in which only Philipp Förster (28) was valued higher in 2019 when he switched to VfB Stuttgart: at 1.5 million euros.

While Förster raked in record sales of EUR 3 million, Okoroji is likely to be available for less money. The defender still has a contract that runs until 2024, which is why the coming summer is probably the last chance for SVS to get an adequate fee – provided the class can be maintained. In the event of relegation to the 3rd division, the situation is likely to be different. The SVS is currently bottom of the 2nd Bundesliga and is four points behind the saving bank.

Okoroji has made 15 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring three goals. Due to a metatarsal fracture, he was temporarily out of action for several weeks.
