Hofmeister just missed first win of the season

The German snowboarder Ramona Hofmeister only narrowly missed her first success of the season less than four weeks before the start of the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.

In the final of the non-Olympic parallel slalom in Bad Gastein against the Austrian Daniela Ulbing, a mistake shortly after the start cost the 25-year-old victory.

“Today I really took a lot of stones from my heart,” said Hofmeister: “The last few races were really difficult for me, I was really disappointed and couldn’t call up my performance.” The placement “didn’t matter” to her, “The main thing is the podium. That is really outstanding.”

Arvid Auner drove to his first World Cup victory after a purely Austrian semi-final.

Yannik Angenend qualified for the round of 16 and finished 16 overall. the second part of the national Olympic standard. The 21-year-old had previously finished tenth in Carezza, Italy in December.

Baumeister, Hofmeister, Langenhorst and Hochreiter have already qualified for the Winter Games (February 4th to 20th).
