The German hockey players were not yet convincing at the start of the hot phase of the World Cup preparations.

When national coach Valentin Altenburg made his home debut, the German Hockey Association (DHB) team in the Pro League on Tuesday in Düsseldorf drew 2-2 against World Cup hosts Spain and lost the penalty shoot-out by an extra point (0-3). Several blatant defensive mistakes prevented a win.

On Wednesday (3:30 p.m. / DAZN) there will also be revenge in Düsseldorf. Two games in Mönchengladbach against the USA (March 26/27) follow, in which Altenburg wants to try a lot and gain insights for the highlight of the year.

In the Pro League, the German women are without a win after five games, the World Cup will take place in Spain and the Netherlands from July 1st to 17th.
