H&M plans flagship store in Hamburg’s Überseequartier

The real estate company Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) presented another well-known tenant for its shopping center Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier, which is currently under construction. According to the company, the Swedish clothing retailer H&M will move into premises with a total area of ​​around 3,200 square meters. The opening of the store is therefore planned for spring 2024. The branch will then “show the most modern H&M store concept in the Hanseatic city,” explained URW.

Maximilian Schüssler, Sales Manager of H&M Germany, explained the choice of location: “We are proud that we can create another shopping experience for our customers in Hafencity with our new H&M store,” he explained in a statement. “The Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier is also a great addition to our store portfolio and we are pleased to be an important partner in making the new quarter a unique and lively destination.” The Swedish textile group is “one of the largest German employers in the retail sector “ also “proud of being able to create many new jobs,” says Schüssler.

URW has already been able to attract popular clothing suppliers such as Breuninger, Zara, Mango and JD Sports as tenants for the Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier, which is currently scheduled to open in the year after next. The H&M shop will “give further contours to the brand mix of the flagship destination and further strengthen our strategic partnership with H&M,” explained Constantin Wiesmann, Director of Leasing Austria & Germany at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield.
