The Olympic second of Mykolas Alekna as the first discus thrower in the world broke the 75-meter brand.
With 75.56 meters, the 22-year-old improved his own world record by more than one meter. This fabulous throw was achieved at an event at an event of the World Athletics Continental Tour in Ramona in the US state of Oklahoma.
The special thing: Almost a year ago, Alekna in Ramona survived the almost 38 -year -old world record by Jürgen Schult with 74.35 meters.
On June 6, 1986, the Schweriner in Neubrandenburg thrown the disc to 74.08 meters. It was last the oldest men’s world record in athletics.
Mykolas Alekna, second of 2022 and World Cup in 2023, is the son of Virgilijus Alekna. The 53-year-old was Olympic champion in 2000 and 2004 and also won two World Cup titles. Its best performance was 73.88 meters.
